Welcome To The Copycat
A majority of all of the music I’ve ever posted about on the internet would not exist or sound the same if it weren’t for the Copycat. I realize that this might be a bold statement to make about an old industrial warehouse, but one can’t even begin to imagine the amount of bands, shows, practices, parties, recordings, installations, projects, and sessions that have originated from or have somehow been shaped by the Baltimore building.
Alex Wein and Rob Brulinski also feel strongly about it’s influence, and have set out to document the history and occupants. Above is a one-shot short that follows residents on a building tour. It features a Weekends practice session, and music by Secret Mountains, Roomrunner, and Murder.

& they have a kickstarter to fund the production of their documentary photo book, here.
